Job Summary

As an Interior Designer on Hutton’s Design + Build team, you’ll drive the interior design process from conceptualization through execution while working in a collaborative environment. Your work will reflect each owner’s vision while supporting Hutton’s commitment to purposeful, high quality design. You’ll play a key role in uniting design intent with real world execution, partnering with owners and project teams to create functional, beautiful spaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accommodate and represent owner’s best interests at all times.
  • Design with regard to project vision, functionality, aesthetics, owner expectations, and budget.
    • Programming
    • Space planning
    • Material specification
    • Design details
    • Construction drawing documentation
  • Communicate design to owners, solicit input, and incorporate feedback.
  • Coordinate with engineering consultants on fixture selections (plumbing, lighting, etc.) and systems-related building elements.
  • Coordinate with build team members over the course of the project.
  • Continual research of industry trends and material updates.
Requirements

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Expertise with software including Revit (BIM), Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • An ability to conceptualize and demonstrate how a finished product will look to an owner.
  • Knowledge of interior materials and detailing.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local building regulations.
  • Understanding and ability to provide all necessary construction documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, and specifications for a project.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects at one time.
  • Analyzing information and evaluating results to solve problems and choose the best solution.
  • Reliable, responsible, and dependable.
Work/Physical Environment
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position within an office environment
