Instructional Designer
The Instructional Designer will be responsible for designing and developing engaging and effective learning materials for our organization. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, trainers, and other stakeholders to create instructional content that meets the needs of our learners. This position also helps administer the company's Learning Management System.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze learning needs and develop learning objectives
- Design and develop instructional materials, including e-learning courses, instructor-led training materials, job aids, and assessments
- Apply instructional design principles and adult learning theory to create engaging and interactive learning experiences
- Utilize industry-standard tools such as Articulate 360 (Rise & Storyline), Workday Learning, Camtasia, and Synthesia to develop e-learning modules and multimedia content
- Incorporate multimedia elements, such as graphics, audio, and video, to enhance learning materials
- Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to instructional design standards
- Revise and update existing learning materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in instructional design and e-learning development
- Support ad hoc projects and assignments, as needed
Requirements:
Experience:
At least 1 year of instructional design experience
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, HR, Education, Business or a related field
Computer
Skills:
Standard computer skills. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS, ideally Workday) and learning technologies
Communication
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Special
Skills:
Ability to build curriculum through storytelling by incorporating case studies, real-life examples or fictional scenarios. Strong organizational skills. Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Experience creating targeted content that generates measurable ROI
