Operating Engineer 1-2

We are seeking an Operating Engineer 1-2 to join our Facility Management Department. The position performs preventative maintenance on boilers and related equipment.

• One year of experience or training in the operation or maintenance of large stationary engines or mechanical equipment.

  Experience:
  
  Working with and handling refrigerants requires possession of an appropriate EPA refrigerant recycling and recovery certification for technicians (Section 608 of the Clean Air Act, 1990).

• Perform preventative maintenance work on chillers, liquid cooling units, heat and cooling circulating pumps, air compressors, cooling tower units, steam boilers, hot water furnaces, hot water heaters, hot water transfer pumps, convector units, air conditioner/heat pumps, walk‑in cooler and freezers, ice machines, generators and incinerator units.
• Monitor, update, and maintain the Preventative Maintenance and Work Order Systems for the Engineering Department daily.
• Attend educational in‑services, mandatory training, and annual reviews as required by hospital policy and procedure or as deemed necessary by supervisor.
• Perform all other duties as assigned, including ensuring departmental coverage.

• Compensation
  :
  Minimum hire rate for Operating Engineer 1 is $18.38 per hour; for Operating Engineer 2 is $19.67 per hour.
