What You Will Do- Repair Design Engineer (RDE) in the Cases & Composites Group within the Aftermarket Services Engineering (ASE) commercial jet engine repair group.
- Design repairs for gas turbine engine parts, including development of the repair concept, writing the repair, obtaining task approvals, and coordinating with the manufacturing organization that performs the repair.
- Establish repair design requirements and ensure repairs are safe, durable, and meet OEM quality requirements.
- Research how damage affects gas turbine engine component operation and develop engineering-based solutions to return damaged parts to airworthiness.
- Create technical documents that provide the manufacturing organization with engineering requirements for repairs.
- Interface with commercial engine program managers to secure priorities and understand how the repair affects the engine fleet.
- Support the customer in resolving field supportability issues.
- Ensure repair tasks are completed to schedule and on budget.
- Bachelor s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).
- Minimum 5+ years of mechanical design or manufacturing engineering experience, or 3+ years with an Advanced degree.
- Experience in the use of Unigraphics/NX or similar CAD application.
- 10% travel required.
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Materials Engineering.
- Exposure to cost and schedule management or team leadership is desired.
- Experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, plating, plasma spray, welding or brazing is also desired.
This role is onsite. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee s personal responsibility. The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD.
