WHAT’S BREWING IN THIS ROLE...The Vice President, Tax will provide strategic leadership across all global tax matters for 7 Brew’s multi-entity organization, including corporate-owned restaurants, a large, franchised network, manufacturing operations, and a growing consumer-packaged goods business.
As the tax function is currently outsourced, this role will partner closely with the CAO and executive leadership to design and build a scalable, best-in-class global tax organization. The role combines strategic planning with hands‑on oversight of global tax compliance, reporting, risk management, and team development to support rapid domestic and international growth.
THE FLAVOR YOU ADD...- Define and execute a global tax strategy aligned with long‑term growth with domestic and international expansion.
- Serve as the primary tax advisor to the CAO and executive leadership on all tax related matters.
- Lead and manage outsourced tax providers to ensure timely, accurate global filings and reporting.
- Advise on international expansion, entity structuring, transfer pricing, franchising, and intercompany transactions.
- Oversee U.S. federal, multi‑state, and international income tax compliance, including indirect taxes (sales/use, VAT/GST, customs, property, and business licenses)
- Ensure compliance with global nexus, permanent establishment, withholding, and statutory requirements.
- Monitor evolving global tax regulations and coordinate with external advisors and internal teams.
- Lead tax planning initiatives supporting expansion, franchising models, real estate, and supply chain optimization.
- Oversee global transfer pricing strategy, documentation, and intercompany pricing policies.
- Evaluate tax‑efficient structures for manufacturing, procurement, IP, and CPG operations.
- Assess impacts of global tax reform, OECD guidance, and BEPS initiatives.
- Provide executive oversight of ASC 740 income tax provisions and financial statement disclosures.
- Ensure strong internal controls, SOX compliance where applicable, and accurate tax accounting.
- Partner with accounting on tax payments, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Lead global tax audits and examinations and manage interactions with tax authorities.
- Oversee responses to tax notices, disputes, and inquiries.
- Establish tax risk management frameworks, policies, and governance practices.
- Build and lead a high‑performing global tax team as the function is internalized.
- Collaborate with operations, legal, real estate, HR/payroll, and supply chain teams.
- Drive process improvement, automation, and system optimization, including Net Suite and Avalara.
- Deep expertise in U.S. federal, SALT, and international tax, ideally within hospitality, franchising, and supply chain environments.
- Strong knowledge of transfer pricing, VAT/GST, withholding taxes, and cross‑border structuring.
- Experience with restaurant‑specific tax considerations.
- Proficiency with Net Suite, Avalara, and tax automation tools.
- Proven executive leadership, strategic mindset, and ability to translate complex tax issues to senior leaders.
- Experience supporting franchise‑based or QSR brands with international operations.
- Exposure to tax planning for manufacturing, procurement, or CPG businesses.
- Experience implementing global indirect tax automation solutions.
- Demonstrated success building or scaling a tax function in a high‑growth environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field;
Master’s in Tax or JD preferred. - CPA required.
- 12+ years of progressive tax experience, including senior leadership roles.
- Extensive experience across multi‑entity, multi‑jurisdiction tax environments.
