Job Details
This position is responsible for working with business units to identify, quantify and manage commodity risks using forward transactions whether financial, physical structured or any other methodology. Other responsibilities include the execution of risk management strategies on behalf of the risk management department for prepared foods, pork belly, freezer programs, butter and milk, hedge programs; reconciling positions against back office, coordinating compliance of risk parameters with the treasury group, coordinating all aspects of currency transactions, structuring and executing hedge transactions as necessary for all programs such as hog and cattle, boxed beef, boxed pork, foreign exchange, forward contracting and the Pork Group.
In addition, this position ensures timing of hedge liquidations, preparations regarding monthly risk management, committee meetings and supporting the VP of Sourcing and Risk management in all other aspects necessary whether perpetual or ad hoc; facilitates positions with finance teams to insure accuracy; report closed results and MTM situations of positions; facilitates cash settlements of hedges including swaps internal and external markets;
FX transactions coordinate with treasury applications associated with such; support VO Sr Trader with various reports trading files pork groups files etc.; maintain refine and update protein supply and demand fundamental decks. Provides commentary and opinion of market in all appropriate settings such as Business Unit meetings, weekly risk management meetings and daily morning meetings and provides personal analysis and trade recommendations to the VP as appropriate.
- Education:
Bachelor degree in a discipline directly related to the position. - Experience:
5 plus years' experience in commodity markets. - Computer
Skills:
Intermediate computer skills. - Communication
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Travel: 1-5 domestic trips per year.
