Overview
Community Clinic is a patient-directed Community Health Center which provides affordable primary health care and supportive services to our neighbors in Northwest Arkansas. Community Health Centers, also known as Federally Qualified Health Centers, is a Federal designation whereby community health needs are identified and are responded to appropriately. We provide health care using a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) approach: the needs of the patient come first.

Community Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant for our School Based Health Clinics in Northwest, AR. This role will begin as a float position supporting School-Based Health locations in Springdale, Fayetteville, Elkins, West Fork, and Prairie Grove. Less common coverage areas may include Rogers and Siloam Springs. The role is expected to transition to a home base at George Elementary in Springdale, AR within 6–9 months.
CMA or RMA certification is required. This is a full-time position scheduled Monday
- Friday 8:00-4:30p with mileage reimbursement.
- Maintains patient flow during clinic so as to assure prompt service for patients.
- Obtains vital signs, measurements and laboratory tests accurately, as per protocol.
- Obtains chief complaint and reason for visit using excellent listening skills.
- Maintains exam room supplies and cleanliness for optimal efficiency.
- Assists as requested by provider in procedures and examinations within guidelines of certification and/or training.
- Translates written and verbal communication between patient and providers, nurses or ancillary staff, as requested by either the patient or staff and as skills allow.
- Adheres to applicable regulatory guidelines and laws, including but not limited to HIPAA/HITECH, CLIA, HRSA, NCQA PCMH and OSHA.
- Proficient spelling necessary.
- Ability to work and function independently and within a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people of all backgrounds.
- Proficient knowledge in computer software such as Microsoft Office Software.
- Able to perform proficiently on current practice management system and/or electronic medical records.
- HS Diploma or equivalent required
- Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, or equivalent experience required.
- Bilingual Spanish/English strongly required
- Lab Experience preferred
- High Volume Medical Clinic experience preferred
- Must have the ability and willingness to travel between locations in Northwest Arkansas
