recommended certifications- arrt – mri specialist – american registry of radiology technologist (arrt)
- armrit – mri technician certification – american registry of magnetic resonance imaging technologists (armrit)
- knowledge and skills to perform diagnostic scans as directed by radiologists.
- use correct scan protocols to optimize image quality while decreasing scan length and repeat procedures, and demonstrate knowledge of patient positioning and coil selection.
- screen patients, families, and staff with attention to pregnancy and mri contraindications.
- follow all safety recommendations regarding mri.
- ensure that work area is properly maintained.
- troubleshoot and report malfunctioning equipment.
- comply with all tjc, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
- perform other duties as assigned.
