Clinic Medical Assistant – BH Internal Medicine Clinic

The Medical Assistant assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. The Medical Assistant will conduct patient intake, take vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and complete patient health history in the electronic medical record. The assistant must be friendly, professional, and able to keep a fast pace during clinic hours.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assist physician in patient examination and treatment
• Conduct patient intake and take vital signs
• Complete patient health history in EMR
• Draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, with potential exposure to bodily fluids
• Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor during clinic hours

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a medical assistant program preferred
• Previous medical assistant experience preferred
• Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
• Decision-making and multitasking skills
• American Heart Association BLS certification

• May be exposed to a variety of healthcare settings, including clinical, office, or maintenance environments

Authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
