Aboutthe Role
As a DSP, you aren’t just providing daily assistance—you are acting as an advocate, mentor, and partner in promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life. In this role, you will provide hands‑on, one‑on‑one support to an adult in their home and community, empowering them to access local resources, build life skills, and participate in meaningful activities.

They love social interaction, music, videos, water play, outdoor walks, and community outings. They also have a strong interest in animals and sensory‑based experiences. - Daily Support Needs: You will help guide them through daily living tasks, personal hygiene, and grooming—supporting the self‑care routines they can do independently while stepping in to help where needed.
- Safety & Structure: Because this individual has a limited awareness of safety risks, they require close, 1‑on‑1 supervision during community outings. They do best with a consistent routine, positive redirection, and a supportive, structured environment.
- Age: Must be 18 years or older.
- Education: High school diploma, GED, or 1 year of relevant experience.
- Clearances: Ability to pass all required background checks and clearances.
- Mobility: A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (essential for community outings).
- Flexibility: Willingness to work weekend or fill‑in schedules if needed.
- Work is performed in the individual's home, community settings, and agency sites (includes standing, walking, and driving).
- May involve physical tasks, lifting, or utilizing mobility equipment.
- Includes assisting with personal care and grooming.
- May involve navigating challenging behaviors; ASN provides comprehensive, ongoing training and team support to ensure your success and safety.
