performs a variety of laboratory tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
required education:associate degree or equivalent experience
recommended education:bachelor's degree
entry level - experience not required.required certifications:medical laboratory technician (mlt) - ascp - ascp, must obtain within one year - must obtain within one year
description- assists with research, development, and/or validation of new policies, procedures and/or instruments.
- manages stock levels, rotation, and monitors expiration.
- performs laboratory procedures and calculates, transcribes and records test results.
- prepares and manages specimens for analysis, refers results to pathology, correlates results and communicates and documents findings.
- performs manual result review and proficiency testing.
- performs maintenance procedures on laboratory instruments and/or equipment.
- performs other duties as assigned.
