- Assist with removal of all biohazardous waste streams from the UAMS Campus, UAMS Health Benton/Bryant and surrounding sites
- Segregate, pack, properly seal, and prepare biohazardous waste and Stericycle containers for shipment to a disposal facility
- Inspect and follow up on cleanliness of soiled/dirty utility rooms in clinical areas and Central Arkansas off-site clinics
- Collect biohazardous waste from predetermined areas
- Clean and decontaminate dirty/soiled utility rooms and biohazard waste bins as needed
- Monitor and replace Stericycle containers within Operating Rooms
- Interact with hospital departments and vendors to provide efficient and safe hazardous waste services
- Maintain work logs and complete work orders in a timely manner
- Maintain area cleanliness and perform preventive maintenance on equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School, GED
- One (1) year experience in a healthcare or regulatory environment OR 2-3 years customer service experience
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have proven customer service skills
- 2-5 years of experience in a healthcare or regulatory environment (preferred)
- 3-5 years customer service experience in a logistic based customer facing role (preferred)
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Subject to pre-employment screening, including criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification
Demonstrates expertise in managing biohazardous waste, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while providing exceptional customer service in a healthcare environment. Capable of maintaining cleanliness and performing preventive maintenance on equipment.
