Cattle Buyer
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team. The Cattle Buyer will gain exposure to multiple aspects within the meat packing industry. This position offers the opportunity to gain skills in negotiating effectively, procuring market ready cattle utilizing a variety of different purchasing options, scheduling daily harvest production, and price reporting. The individual must stay informed on market conditions and available cattle supply.
It is imperative that the individual maintains close communication with upper management, scale house coordinators, and suppliers regarding cattle trade, transport, and harvest. This position was designed to prepare the individual to manage his or her own territory as a Senior Cattle Buyer.
Requirements:
Education:
BS Degree in Animal Science or Agriculture preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
Cattle livestock experience required. Prior experience in the cattle and packing industry preferred.

Basic computer skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Special
Skills:
Strong mathematical skills.
Travel: 70%+
