What You Will Do:

The Aftermarket Repair organization (PSD) located in Springdale, AR is looking for a Machinist Technician for AWW Shift (weekend). Shift hours are Friday-Sunday, 6:00AM-6:30PM. You will receive a shift differential when working on AWW shift of 8%. Employees are subject to train on 1st shift. 1st shift hours are Monday-Friday, 6:30AM-3:00PM. PSD is a clean, well-lit, state-of-the-art machining center in a climate-controlled facility.

Overtime opportunity may be available, after a period of training. Pratt & Whitney PSD is an FAA regulated facility, and compliance with such rules is a condition of employment. Set-up and operate conventional, special purpose, and computerized numeric control (CNC) machines to fabricate and repair metallic and non-metallic parts. Read blueprints, drawings, manuals, specifications to determine machine and set-up requirements.

Set-up and prepare includes: set up of fixtures, tools, attachments, and accessories. Operator level maintenance of machine and set up documents. Use measuring devices like micrometers, calipers, to ensure specifications are met. Maintain a clean work environment.

Qualifications You Must Have:

HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) with a minimum of 2 years of machining experience. Previous experience/training reading blueprints, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine machining and set-up requirements.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Technical trade school degree in machining. Training to include set-up of fixtures, tools, attachments, and accessories. 5 years of machining experience. 5-axis horizontal or vertical milling experience. Experience with VTL, Lathes, and/or Mills FANUC Controller experience.

Pratt & Whitney Springdale, AR is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as a pre-employment contingency and also subject to ongoing random testing as an employee per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.
