Position Overview

The Logistics Account Executive is responsible for cradle-to-grave management of assigned customer accounts and freight opportunities. This role includes customer relationship management, pricing and quoting, RFP submissions, carrier procurement, shipment execution, service recovery, profitability management, account growth, and new business development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned customer accounts from cradle to grave, including quoting, pricing, execution, service recovery, and account growth
  • Build and maintain strong customer and carrier relationships
  • Monitor and pursue opportunities through customer load boards, spot freight opportunities, mini-bids, RFPs, lane reviews, and coverage requests
  • Aggressively pursue all available freight opportunities within assigned accounts
  • Source and secure carrier capacity while maintaining service expectations and profitability goals
  • Negotiate rates with customers and carriers to maximize gross margin performance
  • Monitor market trends, seasonal capacity shifts, fuel impacts, and transportation market conditions
  • Provide proactive communication regarding shipment status, service issues, delays, and solutions
  • Identify opportunities to increase shipment volume, revenue, and account profitability
  • Participate in customer pricing exercises, strategic account reviews, RFPs, and bid opportunities
  • Develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and relationship development
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful service execution and customer satisfaction
  • Take ownership of account performance, customer retention, profitability, and growth objectives

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum three (3) years of transportation, logistics, brokerage, supply chain, or related industry experience preferred
  • Experience managing customer accounts and carrier relationships preferred
  • Experience utilizing DAT, Truckstop, Highway, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and related logistics technology platforms preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and transportation software platforms
  • Bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
