Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Installation Technician
Hugg & Hall Equipment Company is seeking a Shop Service Manager to lead a team of internal shop technicians. This is a unique position that requires a mixture of proven, hands‑on experience as a service technician, strong managerial skills, and the ability to foster rapport and ongoing communication across all departments.
Key Responsibilities- Manage, coordinate, and support a team of internal shop technicians, providing a strong sense of leadership and accountability
- Use technical expertise to provide real‑time guidance and assistance on shop repair jobs to ensure we provide best in class service repairs
- Promote a culture of collaboration and continuous communication across multiple departments to build and maintain strong working relationships
- Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic in the material handling equipment industry
- Advanced mechanical aptitude, professional demeanor, and a safety‑first mentality
- Resourceful thinker with ability to multitask, prioritize, and solve complex problems in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, or willingness to develop these skills
- Excellent computer skills
- 3 years of experience as a service technician with strong competency in the repair of material handling equipment
- Prior management experience preferred
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Current forklift certification or ability to obtain within 60 days
- High School Diploma or equivalent

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS- Must frequently work on equipment with potential hazards, requiring adherence to appropriate safety equipment and practices as outlined in the safety manual.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift items weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Position requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, twisting, climbing, and crawling.
- Position requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting handling and outward reaching daily.
- Must be able to wear safety glasses and safety shoes in adherence to safety manual.
- Works in operating facilities and outdoors.
- Encounters varying weather conditions and temperatures.
