Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate rubber-tired or crawler-type loaders equipped with scoop-type buckets to excavate, move, and load materials.
  • Load trucks, manage material from stockpiles, and charge batch plants, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of materials to support project needs.
  • Maintain constant communication and visual contact with team members to ensure safety, especially when maneuvering equipment in tight spaces.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-operation equipment inspections, documenting findings as required by company standards.
  • Conduct routine servicing and minor maintenance; escalate significant repairs to the Foreman.
  • Adhere strictly to all company policies, OSHA, and MSHA safety regulations.
  • Support and mentor less-experienced team members in equipment operation and safety practices.
  • Assist with general labor duties as needed to ensure project success.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proven experience operating loaders or similar heavy equipment in a construction setting.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds unassisted when necessary.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a professional, courteous attitude.
  • Commitment to teamwork, open communication, and helping others achieve their best.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, travel, and overtime as project needs demand.
  • Comfortable with physical requirements such as climbing, stretching, sitting for extended periods, and working on rough terrain.
  • Strict adherence to all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
  • Must be at least 18 years old due to the nature of the work environment.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
  • Ability to pass a "Fit for Work" physical examination.
  • Provide valid I-9 documentation for employment eligibility.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.
  • Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
  • Lift and move objects weighing up to 25-50 lbs as needed.
  • Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.
  • Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely.
