Plumber/Pipefitter Lead
Location: FDA facility, Jefferson, AR
Employment Type: Full-time; contingent upon contract award
Openings: 1
Pay: $32.84-$37.34 per hour, plus $11.55 fringe benefit
Position Summary: Lead plumbing and pipe fitting work and perform or coordinate installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems, piping systems, valves, drains, fixtures, pumps, and related utility components.
Compensation note: Lead Craftsman I-III range pending final classification.
Key Responsibilities- Lead assigned plumbing and pipe fitting work, coordinate daily tasks, review priorities, and support preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Install, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot piping, valves, drains, pumps, fixtures, backflow devices, water systems, and related equipment.
- Read drawings, blueprints, isometrics, specifications, work orders, equipment manuals, and safety procedures.
- Coordinate shutdowns, isolation, lockout/tagout, testing, documentation, and restoration of systems as needed.
- Mentor craft personnel and coordinate with operations, utilities, safety, quality control, vendors, and other trades.
- Use safe work practices, proper tools, lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment, and site‑specific requirements.
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, records, work order notes, material usage, or other documentation as required.
- Communicate professionally with supervisors, team members, customer representatives, vendors, subcontractors, and facility personnel.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
- No relocation assistance is available.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in facilities operations, maintenance, utilities, construction, trades, administration, or a closely related field.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow work orders, technical instructions, safety procedures, and site rules.
- Strong reliability, professionalism, customer service, and attention to detail.
- Ability to pass required background check, drug screening, badging, security, or site access requirements.
- Valid driver's license may be required for positions that operate company or site vehicles.
- Journey‑level plumbing, pipe fitting, steamfitting, or utility piping experience and prior lead experience are required or strongly preferred.
- Applicable plumbing, pipe fitting, backflow, or trade license/certification may be required based on final contract requirements.
- Experience in federal, FDA, laboratory, industrial, or institutional facilities is preferred.
- Experience working in federal, government, research, institutional, industrial, food service, or commercial facilities.
- Experience using CMMS, work order systems, safety programs, or formal maintenance documentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi‑trade operations and maintenance team.
This position may require standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, lifting, carrying tools or materials, working in mechanical spaces, and performing duties indoors and outdoors in varying conditions. Specific requirements will depend on the final position assignment and worksite needs.
