GFL Environmental is seeking a Mechanic Lead to oversee maintenance and repair of our waste and recycling fleet. In this role you will perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues, and complete preventive and corrective repairs on trucks and equipment. You will lead and mentor mechanics, prioritize work orders, coordinate with operations to minimize downtime, and ensure all work meets safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities
- Lead daily maintenance and repair activities for fleet trucks and equipment
- Perform advanced diagnostics on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Complete preventive maintenance and corrective repairs to minimize downtime
- Mentor and guide mechanics, providing technical support and on-the-job training
- Prioritize and assign work orders, coordinating with operations and dispatch
- Maintain accurate service records, inspections, and parts usage in maintenance systems
- Ensure all work complies with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Inspect equipment for safety and reliability, identifying and resolving issues proactively
- Support parts ordering, inventory control, and vendor coordination
- Promote a safety-first, team-oriented culture aligned with GFL's environmental mission
