Job Overview
Job Summary:
The Equipment Specialist will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of various heavy equipment on Primoris Services Corporation projects located on the Big Island.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on a diverse range of construction equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, and other heavy machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with equipment.
- Execute repairs, replacements, and adjustments to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, parts used, and equipment status.
- Order and manage inventory of spare parts and consumables for equipment.
- Conduct pre-operational checks and safety inspections on equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers and operators to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Travel to various job sites on the Big Island as required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components common to construction equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic charts.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications are a plus.
