Perform Repairs and Overhauls on Heavy Mobile Equipment:
Carry out troubleshooting, repair, and reassembly of major components such as engines, transmissions, differentials, hydraulic systems, braking systems, and powertrain assemblies with minimal supervision. Diagnose Mechanical, Electrical, and Hydraulic Malfunctions:
Use technical practices, test equipment (oscilloscopes, compression gauges, computer analyzers), and visual/auditory indicators to identify issues and determine the extent of required repairs. Interpret Technical Manuals, Schematics, and Specifications:
Read and apply technical diagrams, service manuals, and specifications to correctly measure, fit, install, and adjust parts and systems. Operate, Inspect, and Service Heavy Equipment:
Operate a variety of gasoline and diesel-powered engineering and construction equipment; perform safety inspections, servicing, and fueling prior to operation to ensure equipment readiness. Use and Maintain Tools and Test Instruments:
Utilize hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and diagnostic instruments to repair, or rebuild vehicle systems while maintaining tools in safe working condition. Troubleshoot, Prioritize, and Complete Work Orders Independently:
Perform repairs through work order systems, determine repair priorities based on equipment condition and mission needs, and complete tasks thoroughly with minimal return work or oversight.

RequirementsMust be a U.S. citizen or national. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license throughout employment. You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards.
A uniform allowance will be provided. You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, and shift work. You may be required to travel overnight away from home occasionally. Ability to lift 50 pounds. You may be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card with travel and/or purchase authority. You must be at least (1) 18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school;
or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program.
