Senior Manager, Benefits
The Senior Manager, Benefits involves comprehensive management of diverse organizational benefit solutions, with a focus on medical and prescription drug plan management, alongside expertise in data analytics and reporting. The role includes effective management of consultant and vendor partnerships, plan design management, decision‑making, and cost‑effective solution proposals that benefit the company and its colleagues. It also supports onboarding, ongoing benefits communication, and execution planning.
WhatYou Will Do
- Manage all aspects of self‑insured claims, eligibility data, and day‑to‑day benefits administration.
- Identify, track, and measure the impact of programs on colleagues, providing insights for recommended adjustments to benefit program designs.
- Handle budgetary management, tracking, and reporting, collaborating with internal Legal, Labor, Tax, and cross‑functional teams to develop effective programs for plan participants.
- Collaborate with Macy’s Technology and Administrative teams to execute new initiatives.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with applicants for necessary information and documentation.
- Create and maintain leadership dashboard reports on benefit programs.
- Assist in developing comprehensive communication plans for internal education and engagement.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and propose design enhancements.
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a multi‑faceted environment, making administrative and financial decisions.
- Ensure regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Data analytics expertise for claims analysis and evidence‑based decision‑making.
- Experience in managing self‑insured claims, eligibility data, and day‑to‑day benefits administration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including development of effective communication plans.
- Vendor and project management skills, managing consultant and vendor partnerships.
- Collaboration skills with internal Legal, Labor, Tax, and cross‑functional teams.
- Analytical and strategic thinking with a track record of fostering collaborative partnerships.
- Strong budgetary management skills, including tracking, reporting, and proposing cost‑effective benefit solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and data manipulation in Excel.
- Highly organized with attention to detail, ensuring accurate maintenance of leadership dashboard reports.
- Ability to make independent administrative and financial decisions and provide recommendations for benefits design adjustments.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and strategic mindset, proven in fostering collaborative partnerships.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Capable of executing essential job functions such as communication, collaboration, and use of office and computer systems.
- Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs.
