About the Role

Junior Camp Assistant is an excellent opportunity for high school students looking to gain volunteer hours, build their resumes, and develop leadership skills. You will work directly under the guidance of our Youth Camp Instructors to support classroom activities and help younger students with their tech projects. This is a great stepping stone for teens interested in future careers in technology, education, or community leadership.

Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Lead Instructor with setting up equipment, software, and classroom materials before sessions begin.
  • Provide one-on-one troubleshooting and encouragement to campers who need extra help with their projects.
  • Help maintain a positive, energetic, and safe camp environment during activities and breaks.
  • Act as a positive role model for younger campers by demonstrating good behavior and a passion for learning.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in high school with a strong interest in technology, science, or education.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must currently reside in Cincinnati. Applicants who have lived outside the state of Ohio within the past 7 years may experience delayed or rejected applications due to background check limitations.
  • Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn new skills.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor with the ability to work well in a team.
  • Creative, self-motivated, and possess excellent written communication skills.
  • CPR certification is a plus, though we provide refresher training for our team.
Schedule and Commitment

Mandatory training begins May 22, 2026.

The core summer programs operate from June 3 through August 7, 2026.

Summer hours run Monday through Thursday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with select free Fridays. Flexible part-time scheduling options are available to accommodate volunteer needs.

Your official start date will depend on the successful completion of onboarding, training, and background check verification.
