EHS Specialist

Amentum is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team in Springdale, OH. Typical work schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.; hours may vary based on business demand and may include weekend shifts to support our 24/7 operation.

• Support the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of EHS framework elements to align with company technical standards and core requirements.
• Assist site environmental programs including air, water, waste, and chemical management.
• Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.).
• Conduct EHS event investigations, root cause analysis, and coordinate corrective actions to closure.
• Perform safety risk assessments and recommend controls.
• Participate in regular safety and environmental inspections, identifying hazards and proposing continuous improvements.
• Develop and deliver EHS‑related training and safety briefings to employees at all levels.
• Coordinate waste management activities and environmental compliance tasks.
• Perform other EHS duties as required or needed.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with 1+ year of health & safety experience; or high school diploma/GED with 4+ years of health & safety experience.
• Experience/knowledge of EHS in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and safety‑related data management software.
• Ability to effectively deliver training to multiple levels of personnel.

• Current Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
• Experience with Process Safety Management programs.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
• Experience implementing or optimizing EHS programs in manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Strong ability to teach, coach, and influence.
• Previous experience in hazardous waste management and chemical management.

• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• Must be able to obtain a security access badge at the client location.
• Capacity to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and alternative shifts as needed.
• Physical: typical office environment; occasional lifting up to 20 pounds; constant sitting and computer use.
• Must wear required personal protective equipment (steel‑toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hat, etc.).

• Salary range: $32–$35 per hour; actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, responsibilities, market data, and applicable laws.
