Controller, Accounting, Accounting Manager

We are partnering with a well-established manufacturing company near Elk Grove Village that is seeking a hands‑on accounting leader to oversee corporate accounting operations, consolidations, reporting, and internal controls. This position will partner closely with executive leadership and FP&A while helping drive process improvements across a multi-entity organization.

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP
• Oversee consolidated financial reporting, including intercompany eliminations and multi-entity consolidations
• Maintain and review general ledger activity, account reconciliations, inventory accounting, cash activity, and accounts payable processes
• Partner closely with FP&A and leadership teams to develop meaningful internal reporting and financial analysis
• Evaluate and strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and reporting processes across the organization
• Drive process improvements and standardization initiatives to increase efficiency and scalability
• Leverage ERP systems and technology to streamline accounting operations and reporting capabilities
• Manage and mentor an accounting team while assessing department structure and future staffing needs
• Prepare and review financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reporting packages
• Assist with special projects, audits, and other strategic finance initiatives as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA required
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within manufacturing, distribution, or a multi‑entity environment
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, consolidations, and intercompany eliminations
• Prior leadership experience managing accounting teams
• Experience working in large ERP systems and improving accounting processes
• Public accounting experience within a national or regional CPA firm is highly preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally with operations and executive leadership
