Responsibilities
- Provide technical support in maintaining and processing financial information by reconciling accounts, maintaining, updating, and adjusting accounting records; obtaining, gathering, verifying, summarizing and providing information pertaining to charitable organizations registrations and annual reports.
- Verify financial documents and related charitable organization documents to ensure that information has been accurately posted to the database/record system.
- Document and process financial documents, annual reports and registrations by verifying information and entering data into the accounting system.
- Maintain historical financial records by updating, adjusting, and entering information into account books, records, and ledgers (manual or automated); verifying accounting information with other internal records.
- Assist other staff by maintaining detailed records; coding, preparing, and processing routine financial documents; and answering routine questions.
- Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and collaborative manner.
- May be required to cross‑train and serve as a backup on other accounting functions.
- Attendance in the office is an essential function of this position.
- Completion of two years of college and one year of technical accounting experience, or four years of related clerical or bookkeeping experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Knowledge of general bookkeeping and accounting techniques and elementary knowledge of State accounting laws, regulations and procedures.
- Familiarity with standard office accounting machines and personal computers.
- Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public.
