Senior Accountant

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing advanced accounting functions that support the Company's financial reporting, manufacturing operations, and financial analysis. This position plays a key role in month-end and year-end closing activities, financial analysis, and continuous process improvement. The Senior Accountant partners with operations and management to provide accurate financial information that supports sound business decisions and operational efficiency.

• Perform financial reconciliations and month-end closing activities mainly related to payroll.
• Manage the administration of foreign entity.
• Assist with administration of an employee stock ownership plan, including payouts, compliance, appraisal, and audit.
• Financial statement analysis.
• Complete high-level compliance related to government surveys and filings.
• Assist with the administration and maintenance of company insurance policies.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements.
• Contribute to the completion of year-end audits and tax returns.
• Facilitate and improve accounting processes.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Knowledge of cost accounting and manufacturing accounting principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information effectively.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Experience with ERP systems;
  Microsoft Dynamics GP experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting experience.
• Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
• Cost accounting experience preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred.

• Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
• Frequent use of computers, calculators, and standard office equipment.
• Occasional lifting of office materials up to 20 pounds.
• May occasionally visit manufacturing and warehouse areas, requiring compliance with all facility safety policies and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
