Eccezion has been providing exceptional accounting services for over 30 years. We're a dynamic, growing CPA firm with a passion for excellence, and we're looking for an experienced Audit Accountant to join our team.

With offices in McHenry and Barrington, Illinois, our team of approximately 60 professionals serves clients across multiple states. We provide audit, tax, accounting, payroll, outsourced accounting, marketing and IT services to a diverse client base.

Your Impact

As an experienced member of our Audit Team, you'll do more than perform audits - you'll serve as a trusted advisor to organizations that make a difference in our communities. From nonprofit organizations to municipalities, school districts, and fire protection districts, your work will help clients operate with confidence and transparency.

What You'll Do

• Lead audit, review, and compilation engagements while ensuring compliance with professional standards.
• Plan and perform audits for nonprofit organizations and governmental entities.
• Prepare financial statements and communicate findings and recommendations to clients.
• Build lasting client relationships by providing exceptional service and trusted guidance.
• Collaborate with a team of experienced professionals across a variety of industries.
• Stay current on auditing standards, accounting regulations, and industry best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve audit processes and enhance client service.

What We're Looking For

• Public accounting audit experience required.
• Experience auditing nonprofit organizations and/or governmental entities strongly preferred.
• CPA license or CPA candidate preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and governmental or nonprofit auditing standards.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
