Position: OFFICE SPECIALIST, OPT.2

Job Overview

Under general direction, performs complex clerical and technical support functions for Office of Health Protection licensure programs. Participates in the coordination and organization of the manufactured home community and manufactured home installers programs. Performs a variety of paraprofessional duties in the flow and processing of licensure documents concerning this program. Maintains records for licenses and permits. Keeps staff up to date on policy and procedure changes.

Acts as a liaison between industry and licensure program in resolving discrepancies, responding to inquiries and explaining procedures, rules and services of the programs under the agency's stewardship. Reviews application for accuracy and reliability.

Responsibilities
  • Supports Division license programs
  • Prepares and keyboards letters, correspondence, emails, or legal documents.
  • Prepares and generates data and reports and computerized transmission of detailed data files as requested or required based on inspection reports, violations, or deficiencies.
  • Attends and completes mandatory knowledge-based and practical training required by the Office of Health Protection standard operating procedure and program requirements.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college and one (1) year of office experience, or completion of high school and three (3) years of office experience, or three years of independent business experience.
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 30 words per minute.

Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program, may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this classification.
