The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as a Background Check Associate. Under direction, this position will receive and review incoming criminal history and Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System clearances, apply agency policy and procedures, and independently provide information and/or recommendations for resolution. The role includes cursory review of background check information to ensure completeness for approval or denial of licensure/employment prior to data entry.
This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented and interested in playing a supporting role in the Department’s operations. DCFS offers a competitive compensation plan, excellent benefits, and a pension program.
- Serve as Background Check Associate.
- Perform data entry of clearances and denials, including complex technical terms on criminal history recommendations, into the Background Clearance system.
- Prepare, keyboard, and maintain complex, highly specialized reports related to application and recommendation materials processed through Central Office.
- Identify critical data entry issues.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Completion of high school or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of office experience.
- Ability to keyboard accurately at 45 words per minute.
