Position Summary

Glenbard Township High School District 87 is seeking a qualified candidate who will perform duties and responsibilities necessary to support the area to which they are assigned.

Qualifications
  • Previous years experience as anadministrativeassistantfor an executive-level corporate or educational administratoror Principal.
  • Ability to work in a highly confidential environment.
  • Excellent computer skills using Google Suite, Skyward, Power School, Schoology, Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of Gmail and other office software.
  • Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and be attentive to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • High level of accuracy, dependability, and organization.
  • Advocate, collaborate, empathize, innovate, adapt, learn, and embrace diversity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Not all inclusive)
  • Prepare written communication on behalf of the Principal.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports, including budgets, P-card reconciliation, form submission, travel forms and arrangements, reimbursement paperwork, etc.
  • Assist in managing incoming and outgoing communications from the school, including telephone calls, mail, and welcoming visitors.
  • Coordinate the Principal's calendar as needed.
  • Schedule facilities for meetings as needed.
  • Order and manage supplies, technology, and materials pertaining to the operation of the Main Office.
  • Maintain confidential information, including employee evaluations, interview packages, emergency contact information, etc.
  • Manage short and long-term projects.
  • Assist in the staff evaluation process.
  • Maintain the school newsletter.
  • Maintain familiarity with the organizational structure, departmental functions, policies and procedures of the school district and educational laws.
  • Coordinate Main Office Support Personnel.
  • Serve as liaison between staff and HR Department as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Read, analyze and interpret documents such as correspondence, surveys and electronic media.
  • Write professional communications.
  • Present information effectively and respond to questions from individuals and groups.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and community members.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in written form.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Maintain current job skills, especially in technology-related activities.
  • Perform essential duties with awareness of school district requirements and School Board policies.

  • May occasionally lift up to 30 pounds such as reference books.

The work is usually conducted at one job site; however, occasionally the employee will be required to attend meetings, conferences, workshops and events at other sites as assigned.
