POSITION OVERVIEWThe Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results‑oriented individual to serve as Administrative Assistant I. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills and strong leadership and communication capabilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Serves as staff assistant to the Deputy Director of State Central Register.
- Serves as a confidential liaison to the Budget and Payroll Sections of the Department.
- Reviews correspondence and apprises the Deputy Director of urgent issues.
- As an administrative assistant to the Deputy Director, screens phone calls for the Deputy Director, Deputy SCR Administrators, and supervisory staff.
- Oversees the compilation of the monthly personnel report and maintenance of controlled correspondence reports, appropriate records, and files.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
- Requires one (1) year of professional experience in a public or private organization.
- Requires ability to pass a background check.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
