Position OverviewJoin a team committed to fairness and transparency in Illinois’ property tax system. The Office of Property Tax Appeal Board is looking to hire an Administrative Assistant II position. The Administrative Assistant II supports the Executive Director and ensures smooth daily operations. In this role, you’ll coordinate communication across the Board, prepare monthly meeting materials, interpret policies, and help refine agency procedures.

The Property Tax Appeal Board offers a robust benefit package including:

EssentialFunctions
- Serves as staff assistant to the Executive Director.
- Serves as liaison between the Executive Director, administrative law judges, and clerical support staff internally and with other state agencies, organizations, legislators and the public.
- Compiles information and materials for the monthly agenda.
- Serves as designated lead worker.
- Plans, develops and organizes special projects, audits and investigations.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration.
- Requires two (2) years professional experience in a public or private organization.
- Prefers a working knowledge of the Property Tax Assessment Laws, assessment appeals procedures and appraisal theory and practice.
- Prefers designation as a Certified Illinois Assessing Officer (CIAO).
