Job Description below describes the Estimator in Training role working with the Estimator to learn how to diagnose and prepare estimates for repair in accordance with insurance partner and company guidelines, and to communicate Gerber’s value to achieve a high close rate.

• Ensure consistent execution of the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Greets customer at repair drop off and builds rapport.
• Maps damage with customer (previous, current loss, WOW opportunities).
• Handles repair mapping, takes initial photographs, uploads photos and notes to CCC One with arrival time and related data.
• Notifies production that the vehicle has arrived and places it in production queue; verifies the estimate during teardown.
• Finalizes the estimate using the proper Repair Planning Template.
• Works with the repair team to ensure windshield notations are correct and complete; compiles final parts list.
• Uses the Promise Date Calculator to set the promise date and calls the customer to review the estimate and promise date.
• Provides regular updates to the customer (frequency per management standards).
• Participates in regularly scheduled production meetings.
• Contacts customers whose cars will be completed the next day and schedules with the customer.
• Follows up with technicians after vehicle teardown and adjusts the estimate as needed.
• Assists insurance adjusters with damage reports and supports insurance claim re-inspectors.

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Must currently possess or successfully complete 16 I-CAR units within the first 12 months of employment.
• Preferred: 4-6 years related work experience; photo-imaging software experience is a plus.

• Excellent communication skills.
• Computer literate; knowledge of Microsoft products preferred.
• Good decision-making ability and sound judgment.

• Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel and crouch to provide an accurate estimate of vehicle damage.
• Must possess clear vision to provide an accurate estimate of vehicle damage.

Compensation Details:

Pay: $17/hr - $20/hr.
