We are seeking an execution-oriented Pricing & Commercial Strategy Manager to lead and refine pricing discipline within a dynamic, commodity-influenced manufacturing environment. This role is a critical partner to Sales, Finance, and Operations, responsible for translating high-level pricing strategy into actionable, daily commercial decisions that protect margins and drive price realization.
The ideal candidate thrives on "bringing order to chaos," moving between high-level data analysis and hands‑on partnership with Sales teams to navigate market volatility and index‑based pricing.
Key Responsibilities- Margin & Price Execution: Partner with commercial leadership to execute pricing actions that optimize profitability across various customer segments. Monitor commodity cost fluctuations and vendor price changes to ensure timely adjustments and mitigate margin erosion.
- Process Excellence: Assess current pricing tools and workflows to identify gaps. Develop and implement repeatable, standardized pricing processes and approval paths that the commercial team can easily adopt.
- Commercial Partnership: Act as a strategic analytical partner to the Sales team, providing data‑backed insights and business cases to support pricing recommendations and trade‑offs.
- Analytics & Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards to track price realization, margin trends, and the effectiveness of pricing initiatives. Regularly report findings to executive leadership.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance pricing execution through better data visualization, automation, or ERP tool utilization, ensuring all solutions are pragmatic and user‑friendly.
- Industry
Experience:
5–8 years of experience in pricing, commercial analytics, or finance within a B2B manufacturing or industrial setting. - Niche Expertise: 3–5 years specifically within the packaging industry (ideally involving film extrusion or converting processes).
- Commodity Knowledge: Proven experience managing pricing in environments impacted by raw material volatility and index‑based pricing models.
- Analytical
Skills:
Advanced ability to synthesize complex datasets into simple, clear, and actionable insights. - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or Engineering. (MBA preferred).
