Location:

Springfield, IL

Base salary: $70,000 (depending on experience) plus bonus opportunities.

Monday – Friday, daytime hours.

• Oversee daily store operations to achieve sales and margin goals.
• Promote sales, deliver excellent customer service, manage inventory levels, balance expenses.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance, maintain housekeeping, enhance operational efficiency.
• Provide professional customer service for all internal and external customers, handle product, pricing, technical inquiries.
• Support outside sales team in client relationships and new business opportunities.
• Process financial transactions accurately, including cash reports, charge tickets, coding, costing, pricing, daily cash summaries, and bank deposits.
• Maintain accuracy of back order, open order, and purchase order (PO) expedite reports.
• Cultivate cylinder and hard goods inventory levels for the branch.
• Facilitate training for inside sales associates on product knowledge, policies, procedures, safety.
• Conduct periodic performance reviews for associates.
• Act as bridge between employees and management, provide performance mentorship with HR and senior management.

• Previous management experience in a customer‑facing environment.
• Experience leading teams in retail or industrial distribution.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, occasionally up to 125 lbs with equipment.
• Proficient computer skills, interest in learning new digital tools.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
• Self‑motivated, focused on team success.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Track record in welding, gas, or safety industry.
• 3+ years growing team and operational efficiency.
• 5+ years sales experience with track record.
• Experience with inventory cultivation and vendor relationships.
