Regional Foreign Direct Investment Specialist - Europe, Middle East, Africa

This position serves as the Europe, Middle East and Africa Regional Foreign Direct Investment Specialist for the Illinois Department of Commerce's Office of Trade and Investment. The specialist develops programs to promote Illinois within these regions, supports inbound investment through company and stakeholder engagement, and serves as project manager for business expansion and relocation opportunities. Responsibilities include coordinating FDI activities, promoting Illinois' value proposition to potential investors, conducting market research, and advising on long-term strategies.

• Four years of college with courses in business, marketing or international studies
• Three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization
• Experience working with international business in the public or private sector
• Preferred: three years experience in international trade performing market research or business lead generation
• Preferred: three years experience in sales, marketing, business development or business counseling with international markets focus
• Preferred: ability to travel domestically and internationally with overnight stays
