Traveling Construction Manager

In coordination with the Project Manager, take charge of all field construction activities and personnel on site. Ensure the delivery of a quality product completed on time, while maintaining a safe working environment.

• Accept ownership of all job site activities and personnel, including on-site planning, material & equipment management, process execution, and safety.
• Oversee and report daily progress to the project team, ensuring on-time completion and adherence to budget.
• Interpret and manage construction activities based on installation standards, project files, drawings, documents & records.
• Lead benchmarking, shareholder review, and approval activities based on installation standards.
• Coordinate basic project and construction activities, including planning, scheduling, cost management, change order identification, procurement/receiving of materials, and customer relations.
• Manage field personnel and subcontractors to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Experience with installation and maintenance of construction projects.
• Uphold and facilitate our safety policy and document safety incidents.
• Coach/mentor employees and provide performance feedback.
• Provide on-site training for field personnel.
• Develop and implement project procedures, schedules, and standards.
• Provide technical assistance such as interpretation of drawings, construction method recommendations, material, tools, and equipment specifications and ordering.
• Review material and tool expenses for accuracy and accountability.
• Manage crew efficiency and assess task-based time.
• Communicate conflicts or issues that may affect the schedule.
• Lead by example and work alongside field technicians when needed.
• Build and manage a weekly schedule with a forecasted 3-week look ahead.
• Adhere to local labor laws – Journeyman to Apprentice ratios.
• Act as on-site company representative with strong communication skills, interacting with inspectors, customers, landowners, OSHA, etc.
• Aid in engineering constructability, design, review, and execution planning.

• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, related field, or equivalent combination of experience/education.
• Knowledge of Utility Scale Photovoltaic construction.
• Self-starter and team player.
• Ability to interface with all levels of management, staff, and customers.
• Competency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must be willing to travel, including overnight stays up to 100%.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a history of safe and competent driving.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Pay Range: $100,000 to $130,000/year
