Director of Construction

Dream Clean Car Wash ("Dream Clean" or "the Company") is an express car wash developer, owner, and operator focused on the greater Chicago market. Founded in 2023, Dream Clean is led by an experienced CEO with prior success founding, scaling, and exiting multiple express car wash platforms to institutional investors. The Company currently operates eight sites, with plans to expand to more than 30 locations over the next several years through both greenfield developments and strategic acquisitions.

The Director of Construction is responsible for overseeing the execution of all new car wash construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This role is focused on project management, vendor coordination, budgeting, scheduling, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

The Director of Construction will manage third-party general contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality, efficiency, and consistency across all builds. It will also manage an internal Construction Manager.

• Lead all phases of construction projects from handoff through completion
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules and timelines
• Ensure all projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget
• Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Manage relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors
• Oversee bidding, scope alignment, and contract execution
• Hold vendors accountable for performance, timelines, and quality standards
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and compliance

• Develop and manage construction budgets for each project
• Track and report on project costs, variances, and forecasts
• Approve invoices, change orders, and payment applications
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality

• Ensure all construction meets company standards and specifications
• Maintain consistency across multiple locations and builds
• Address and resolve construction defects or deficiencies
• Oversee project closeout, punch lists, and final inspections

• 7+ years of construction management experience, preferably in multi-site retail, automotive, or similar industries
• Strong understanding of construction processes, budgeting, and scheduling
• Experience working with third-party contractors and subcontractors
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Excellent project management, organizational, and leadership skills

• Smooth and timely project closeouts

• Experience in car wash construction or similar high-volume retail builds
• Familiarity with standardized prototype builds
