Construction Estimator

We are partnered with a nationally recognized commercial general contractor specializing in large scale retail, mixed use, restaurant, industrial, and ground up commercial construction projects across the country. This role will support preconstruction and estimating efforts from conceptual budgeting through GMP development, working closely with operations, ownership groups, and subcontractor partners to deliver accurate and competitive pricing for fast paced commercial projects.

• Prepare conceptual estimates, detailed quantity takeoffs, and full project estimates across multiple commercial construction sectors
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop complete scopes and pricing packages
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals to ensure complete coverage and competitive pricing
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and preconstruction leadership during bid and buyout phases
• Assist with budgeting, value engineering, constructability reviews, and scope alignment throughout preconstruction
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and trade partners across multiple markets
• Participate in bid leveling, scope reviews, and subcontractor interviews
• Prepare bid summaries, proposal clarifications, and owner presentation materials
• Track market trends, labor conditions, material pricing, and escalation impacts affecting project costs
• Assist operations teams with change pricing, procurement support, and cost analysis when needed

• 3+ years of estimating or preconstruction experience with a commercial general contractor
• Experience estimating ground up commercial construction projects required
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and subcontractor scopes
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications across multiple disciplines
• Experience with conceptual estimating, hard bids, negotiated work, and GMP delivery preferred
• Familiarity with estimating software and takeoff platforms such as Bluebeam, OST, Procore, or similar tools
• Strong communication and relationship management skills with subcontractors and internal operations teams
• Retail, restaurant, industrial, or large commercial project experience preferred
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
