Construction Director
The Construction Director will oversee the successful delivery of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects across multiple regions. This individual will provide leadership to a team of Construction Managers, ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on operations leader who excels at improving execution, developing high-performing teams, and driving consistency across a growing portfolio. This role partners closely with development, engineering, procurement, project management, and executive leadership to remove obstacles, improve processes, and keep projects moving forward.
Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Construction Managers overseeing multiple active renewable energy projects.
- Drive accountability for safety, schedule, quality, budget, and overall project performance.
- Conduct regular operational reviews to identify project risks, staffing needs, and recovery plans.
- Establish consistent construction processes, reporting, and performance metrics across all regions.
- Support project controls, forecasting, change management, and financial performance.
- Ensure best-in-class safety, QA/QC, and regulatory compliance throughout construction.
- Build and scale construction teams to support continued company growth.
- Maintain strong relationships with developers, utilities, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
- 7+ years of leadership experience managing utility-scale solar, battery storage, heavy civil, or EPC construction projects.
- Proven success leading multiple Construction Managers and overseeing several concurrent projects.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, contracts, project controls, and field operations.
- Demonstrated ability to build teams, improve operational performance, and solve complex construction challenges.
- Willingness to travel regularly to project sites and regional offices.
