Field Superintendent — Springfield, IL Area | Full-Time
Compensation: $110,000–$130,000 + Performance-Based Bonus
OverviewWe are expanding our presence in the Springfield, IL area, delivering large scale commercial, public works, and multi-family construction projects. We are looking for Field Superintendents who play an integral role in leading project sites and take responsibility for leading a field team.
Position SummaryThe Field Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day field execution of the project. This includes coordinating subcontractors, managing site operations, and ensuring the work is completed safely, on schedule, and with a high level of quality. This role is for someone comfortable being a leader from start to finish — you'll work closely with the Project Management staff, but responsibility for how the project runs in the field resides with you.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead all on‑site construction activities from mobilization through closeout, keeping the jobsite organized, efficient, and well planned. Coordinate subcontractors, manage short-term schedules, and maintain steady progress toward project milestones. Identify and address issues early, whether related to coordination, sequencing, or site logistics, and keep work moving without unnecessary disruption. Enforce jobsite safety requirements, lead regular safety meetings, and maintain a clean, compliant work environment.
Monitor work as it's installed, coordinate inspections, and ensure the finished product meets plans and specifications. Communicate clearly with the Project Management team, inspectors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to keep the project on track.
7–15+ years of commercial construction field experience; proven experience as a Superintendent or lead field role; experience in commercial, municipal, public safety, or multifamily construction; strong understanding of construction sequencing, coordination, and site logistics; ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications. Experience with fire & rescue facilities, civic buildings, and multi‑family projects is a plus but not required.
