Morning News Anchor

News Channel 20/FOX Illinois has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Morning News Anchor.

We are looking for a dynamic individual who can greet audiences each morning with a smile and help start their days out right.

The ideal candidate will be well versed in news of the day as well as ongoing stories.

This person will be able to handle a variety of different topics appropriately and engage with their co-anchors as well as the audience.

If you love morning news, this is the position for you. You will reach audiences daily on ABC and FOX, as well as our digital platforms. Dynamic live television and storytelling skills are a must.

• A strong on‑air presence with the ability to interact with co‑anchors and the audience
• Ability to demonstrate enterprise reporting and creativity in storytelling
• Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to maintain an active social media presence to build your brand and solicit original story ideas

• Previous anchoring experience is required
• Live shot experience is required
• Previous experience working in a team environment is a must
• Must be able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
• Handle the demands of an early morning shift

The base salary compensation range for this role is $55,000-$58,000 annually.

Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flex spending accounts, dependent care accounts, paid vacation time and 12 paid holidays annually.
