Part‑Time Dental Assistant

Springfield Dental Care, a Heartland Dental supported office, invites new graduates and experienced candidates to join our 23‑person team of 4 doctors. We seek a motivated, patient‑oriented assistant open to learning new systems and communicating well with patients.

• Monday 6:50 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• Wednesday 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
• Friday 7:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Located on Wabash Ave, our office thrives on collaboration, communication, and community.

• Greet and welcome patients, sustain patient comfort, and provide education throughout treatment.
• Conduct a thorough review of patients’ health histories to ensure quality care.
• Take and process x‑rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.).
• Provide chairside assistance (four‑handed dentistry) during a variety of procedures.
• Use Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms with strict adherence to safety protocols and OSHA & CDC recommendations.
• Manage supply and inventory levels, and place/expedite orders.
• Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow.

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast‑paced, customer‑centric environment.
• Dental assistant and/or x‑ray certification if required by state law.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection required for the role.

• 1+ year of experience in a dental setting.
• Experience with Dentrix or other dental software.
• Dental assisting school certification.

• Perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Prolonged periods sitting and standing.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
• Availability for virtual or in‑person training sessions throughout the year.
• Bring an up‑to‑date tuberculosis test (required for new hires, except in FL & TN).
