This position will specialize in Epilepsy and EEG's and will have responsibilities in administration, teaching, research and medical service as they pertain to the general mission of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and the specific needs of the Department of Neurology. Responsibilities shall include direct patient care, teaching and work rounds, lectures, protocol development and staff education.

- Conduct 7 half-days of outpatient clinics per week including supervision of resident clinic and access for general neurology with a reduced schedule when staffing the inpatient service.
- Interpret EEGs and long-term monitoring EEGs.
- Participate in evaluation of patients for epilepsy surgery, including noninvasive and invasive video EEG monitoring and electrocorticography.
- Supervise and interpret intra-operative monitoring studies.
- Provide inpatient care through consultations and, when appropriate, principal care as part of weekly rotations on the neurology inpatient service at assigned hospital(s).
- Provide outreach outpatient clinics as needed.

The successful candidate will have knowledge and practical skills in the diagnosis and care of patients with epilepsy and will have specialized expertise for interpreting EEGs, long-term monitoring EEGs and intra-operative monitoring.
Supplemental InformationThe budgeted annual salary range is $200,000 to $220,000, representing the academic base salary only, which is funded through the University. The final academic base salary will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget considerations. Additional clinical compensation will be provided separately through a member practice agreement.
