Job DescriptionTITLE OF VACANCY: School Psychologist Intern
LOCATION: TBD
CONTRACT PERIOD: 187 Days
REPORTS TO: Designated Internship Supervisor(s)
Requirements/Qualifications- Enrolled in an accredited School Psychology graduate training program
- Meets the university requirements to complete an internship
- Pass the appropriate background check
- With supervision from Internship Supervisor(s), provide individual psychological examinations, interpret those findings and generate recommendations that will lead to meaningful experiences for the student
- Demonstrate readiness and/or prior training in Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
- With Internship Supervisor(s) supervision, participate as a team member in multidisciplinary educational staffings for determination of educational objectives and need for special education placement and/or supportive services
- Provide direct service under supervision as appropriate to the needs of the students, individually or as a group
- Participate in parent education and the development of parent understanding
- Consult with teachers and other school personnel in relation to behavior management and learning problems
- With Internship Supervisor(s) supervision, provide crisis intervention services including violence threat assessments and suicide assessments
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication techniques
- Work cooperatively with personnel of school, community, health, and social welfare agencies as a member of a team
- Demonstrate professional growth and development through continued in‑service training, observation, and study, particularly with respect to ethical consideration and legal aspects related to school psychology
- Participate in regularly scheduled supervision meetings with your internship supervisor
- Other such duties as may be assigned by the Intern Supervisor
