Building Principal
- Valid Illinois Professional Educators License;
Early Childhood required and Early Childhood Special Education endorsement/approvals, preferred. Candidates without the necessary endorsement for dual certification could be considered for hire for 1 year only - Knowledge of current curriculum, instructional trends, and school improvement process
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to informally and formally assess learning and behavioral needs of students.
- Provide a high quality, inclusive learning environment for prekindergarten students as defined by ISBE Preschool for All monitoring guidelines and accountability systems.
- Plan and implement instruction in accordance with the approved PK curriculum.
- Establish and implement appropriate student assessment procedures.
- Maintain a classroom climate conducive to learning through the establishment of a behavior management plan and social emotional supports.
- Provide curricular and behavioral support to students as specified on Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Active participation in staff development activities.
- Contribute as a team member and/or leader to school improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQUIP) initiatives.
- Attend district in-services and professional development opportunities in order to implement new strategies for curriculum and instructional improvement.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and the public.
- Other duties as assigned.
