The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a full-time Bilingual ESL Science teaching position for the school year.
JOB SUMMARYThe teacher is responsible to the Building Principal for planning instructional lessons that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students; creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning; and employing effective instructional techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS- Applicants must hold a State of Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License with an endorsement in Science and with a Bilingual/ESL Endorsements
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
- Knowledgeable in ESL teaching methods, curriculum, materials and instructional assessments
- Previous teaching experience with Bilingual/ESL students
- Successful High School teaching experience (preferred)
- Demonstrated skill in diagnosing, prescribing, assessing student learning, and appropriate record keeping
- Knowledge of current teaching techniques
- Applicants must be able to structure a classroom to maximize student learning
- Willingness to participate in co-curricular program as sponsor, supervisor or coach
Salary is in accordance with the teacher salary schedule. The District offers excellent fringe benefits, including life, health and dental insurance.
