Substitute Teaching Assistant

Job Summary

Lincoln Land Community College is seeking part‑time, non‑benefited Substitute Teaching Assistants to support the teaching and learning effort of the Child Development Center.

• Assisting teachers with implementing the daily activities;
• Reporting health concerns to classroom teachers;
• Assisting in maintaining clean, safe and healthy classrooms;
• Helping in monitoring kitchen and classroom supplies;
• Performing laundry duties;
• Preparing breakfast, supplements and catered meals.

Hourly rate: $13.00. Work schedule will be no more than 27 hours a week.

• High school diploma or equivalent and one year of college, including at least 12 semester hours in courses directly related to Child Care or Child Development. Associate's Degree in Child Development/Early Childhood Education or equivalency preferred.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have the ability to obtain a Food Service Sanitation Certificate.
• Physical requirements:
  
  carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally; lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally; stand for long periods of time; walk up to 1 mile; grip, hold and pinch small objects; dexterity to reach, bend, squat, stoop and kneel on a regular basis.

• Prior to employment, a copy of a current physical exam and TB test must be submitted.
• Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check, drug screen, physical and functional capacity exam.

Transcripts, high school diploma, current physical exam, TB test, and a Food Service Sanitation Certificate.
