About the Role
As a CBRE Sr. Learning and Development Specialist - Instructional Designer, you will partner closely with business units to assess learner needs and recommend scalable, sustainable training solutions that support business priorities. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-quality learning programs using a mix of instructor-led, virtual, digital and self-directed learning approaches. The role applies instructional design methodologies, learning technologies, and microlearning strategies to create engaging and scalable learning solutions that support business outcomes.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Consults with business units and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and make recommendations for appropriate solutions that meet business demands.
- Designs and administers blended training programs and digital learning resources including eLearnings, videos and microlearnings and performance support materials using instructional design principles; coordinates with stakeholders to ensure effective outcomes.
- Applies instructional design principles and adult learning theory to create engaging, effective and scalable learning experiences.
- Evaluates and leverages learning technologies and emerging digital tools to enhance content development, learner engagement, and the delivery of innovative learning solutions.
- Coordinates, designs and supports the delivery of virtual and in-person instructor-led training across the US.
- Creates and applies evaluation and assessment tools to measure learning effectiveness, impact and alignment with business goals.
- Translates complex concepts into clear, practical learning experiences tailored to the needs of diverse audiences and job roles.
- Reviews training metrics, feedback and evaluation data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement of learning solutions.
- Manages communication and marketing plans for new courses and training programs.
- Remains current on learning industry trends, methodologies, and best practices and applies them effectively to program design and delivery.
- Develops sound relationships with business partners, operations, managers, consultants and trainers.
- Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
- Contributes to team success through effective communication and collaboration with teammates and partner team members.
- Solicits and incorporates feedback from participants, peers, and leaders to strengthen learning solutions and professional practice.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred with 2-5 years of experience in learning and development roles, training, instructional design or related roles. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Experience applying instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
- Experience designing digital learning content including eLearning, videos, microlearning and blended learning solutions.
- Experience delivering and facilitating training in-person and/or virtually.
- Excellent organizational and project skills to coordinate program efforts.
- Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS), such as Cornerstone OnDemand (CSOD).
- Experience with utilizing multimedia authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, Vyond and other emerging technologies to design online content.
CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Sr. Learning & Development Specialist-Instructional Designer position is $80,000 annually (or $38.46 per hour) and the maximum salary for the position is $90,000 annually (or $43.26 per hour). The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
